Dr. Theo Roubos - Chiropractor

I first discovered Chiropractic when I was in high school. I was referred to a Chiropractor for a recurrent sporting injury. From the moment I started my care, I was immediately taken by the art and philosophy of Chiropractic. My Chiropractor taught me that our body is a self-healing, self-regulating organism controlled by your nervous system. By having an "Adjustment", your Chiropractor removes the interference from the nervous system, allowing your body to repair and heal itself, naturally. When I finished high school, I knew there was only one choice in life for me — to become a Chiropractor. I applied to RMIT University and started a five-year course, studying science, anatomy, physiology and Chiropractic technique and philosophy. Since then I have been providing Chiropractic care to the local community in the Elwood Village, where I grew up, and helping them achieve better health.

Kim Russell — Myotherapist

After many years of playing competitive sport it was clear to me that I was destined for a career that involved helping the body to heal. So when a close friend was studying Myotherapy, I was extremely interested. This interest took me to where I am today. Myotherapy has allowed me to use a variety of techniques to restore specific muscles to their functional state, in turn leading to greater movement and decreased pain in the injured area, whilst also allowing for a preventative approach to the health and maintenance of the muscular system of the body.

Dr Dean Curtis — Acupuncture / TCM

Dr Dean Curtis - originally a West Aussie, sand-groped his way out of Perth to many other places of abode including Melbourne, Gold Coast, Murwillumbah, Albury and London. After leaving high school, Dean didn't move to Melbourne to study Chiropractic immediately, choosing to do some part time study in human biology at Curtin University and also worked in the dental technology trade for 2 years, but that's not an invite to bring in your broken dentures for mending!

Dean graduated as a Chiropractor from RMIT University in Melbourne over 12 years ago. His experience as a Chiropractor has seen him working in many different practices throughout Australia, and even a few in the UK and Ireland. Dean also started and ran his own practice in the town of Murwillumbah in northern NSW for 4 years. Dean has been exposed to a variety of Chiropractic techniques and has experience-adjusting people of all ages. He has a particular interest in foot function and how this can have an effect the rest of the body, especially the healthy functioning of the spine. He utilises a computerised GaitScan system for assessing foot function. Dean is registered with the Chiropractors registration board of Victoria and is a member of COCA (Chiropractic and Osteopathic College of Australasia).

Now firmly planted in Melbourne, Dean is a solid part of the team a Back for Health Chiropractic Wellness Centre.

Abigail Jacquin – Remedial Therapist

During my school years I had a strong interest in human anatomy and physiology, along with a curiosity to learn more about holistic approaches to health and well being. These interests lead me to study and work as a naturopath in Perth. Since this time I have moved to Victoria and continued my studies focusing on Remedial Massage therapies. My goals and approach to client care reflect my belief in holistic health care, and the philosophy that given the right tools and environment the human body has the ability to cure itself.
